This tree has a peculiar aspect. It sucks up a lot of water and if you touch the bark, it is much cooler than the other trees.

Some Argentine gauchos (where's the horses?) notice the two on the left have berets. Very common hats for them.
Alot of beautiful wood; here on the Kingdom Hall door they have carved out a beautiful design.

San Martín de Los Andes

Argentinians love meat. Here is a display of meat being grilled for use in this restaurant. Quite often apparently they show it like this.

A variety of fishy things.
Abelone, called 'locos' in Chile. They were very plentiful when we were here 30 years ago. Now controlled. Most are sent to Japan. Very expensive, but not too bad in this restaurant. I had to have some before we left Chile.

A squid? No one ate it. The waiter just showed it.

More on way to Corral and beyond to the Pacific

In a small village we went to a restaurant and they showed a fish that was just caught. Some of the group ate some of this very same fish. That's fresh! It was delicious!
Out near the Pacific Ocean we passed by the home of the sea lions.

In Corral there is a group with two special pioneers shown here with two visiting brothers from Santiago.
